College Horizon offers services that help guide you and your child through the entire process of transitioning from high school to college—from the very beginning of the college selection process, all the way through the final steps of sitting back and watching your child get accepted.
What we will do for your child
- Help you navigate a college landscape rapidly changing due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

- Offer advice on standardized tests; when to take them, which one to take, how to best prepare for the tests and how to interpret the scores
- Work with you and your child to establish a timeline for college visits and interviews
- Develop a list of criteria to help you find colleges your child will thrive at
- Review your child’s essays and applications
- Help you and your child with the completion and submission of your college applications through both the Common Application and the CSU/UC application systems
- Work with you to explore options relating to financial aid, including scholarships, grants, and merit aid
What we cannot do for your child
- Guarantee that your child will be admitted into any specific college
- Fraudulently write admissions essays for your child
- Write letters of recommendation for your child. Letters of recommendation are always written by teachers, high school counselors, and other school officials.
- Pick a career path or college major for your child
- Fraudulently submit any material to colleges
Your child must:
- Work to the best of their ability during their high school studies.
- Prepare for standardized tests.
- Meet all deadlines associated with applications, testing, letters of recommendation or other materials, and high school transcript submission.
- Participate in regular meetings before and through the college application process.
- Contact College Horizon if necessary.
